About Me
My name is Emily Hancock and I'm a senior at Florida State University. When I'm not drinking coffee, I can be found reading a good book or listening to a podcast. Through my time as an Editing, Writing, and Media major here at FSU, I have had the chance to immerse myself in rhetorical theory and technical writing practices — both of which I have come to love and continue to find an interest in. It is from the classes I adored in this field of study that keep me focused and passionate as a writer. Without the many critiques and readings I've experienced thus far in my college career, I would never have gained the insight or respect I have currently.

I've had the best opportunities to further my writing experience and professional work through writing for Her Campus Media. I found a strong connection to digital media's writing and editing processes through my involvement with Her Campus. I've continued to give my time to this organization for the connections it has given me and the community I have come to love and find support in for my own career. From the ladies at Her Campus, I have learned not only how to be a better writer, but also how to become a leader. I hope to take these experiences I have gained from Her Campus and continue to further who I am as a person, as well as a writer.
Goals
My goal as a writer is to engage with entertainment, media, and music to bring compelling stories to readers. As a professional, I hope to be able to work with numerous publications and bring a new perspective to their writing teams. I want to continue to search for ways to enhance not only my writing, but also my personal life as I write about my passions.
